Natural Looking Botox is in

We are all done with seeing over-filled lips! The natural, subtle look is in and a lip flip is your way of achieving it! Plus, it’s a less invasive, cost-effective option to reveal a fuller-looking lip.

What’s the difference between lip filler and a flip?

Lip filler creates fuller-looking lips by injecting a hyaluronic acid-based product into the lips to increase volume in that area. The Botox lip flip involves precisely placing just a few units of a neuromodulator (Dysport, Botox) along the upper lip muscle near the border. When the muscle relaxes the lip can roll the upper lip outward just enough to make mucosal tissue (pink) more visible. When more pink is exposed, the lips may appear fuller. Lip flip results are more subtle than lip fillers.

Things to Know About Botox Lips

  • Don’t expect the same results lip filler provides. Botox flips do not add volume to the lips. Often our clients get lip flips in addition to fillers.

  • It’s not permanent, lip flips often dissipate faster than Botox/Dysport in other areas of the face due to the amount we move our mouths. Expect to be coming into the clinic every 2-3 months for your next treatment.

  • You may get a bruise at the injection point, this is normal.

  • If you are prone to cold sores this procedure could trigger an outbreak. Talk to your doctor about anti-viral medications to prevent this.

  • You may find drinking from straws and whistling difficult because the muscles we use to do these things are now relaxed.

How Often Should I Get a Lip Flip?

A lip flip is a temporary procedure. Botox lip injections will typically last three to four months. It will start to wear off gradually after two months. Most of our clients plan on getting a Botox lip flip every two to three months.
