What is a Lip Flip?
This is a non-surgical cosmetic procedure designed to enhance the appearance of your lips. It uses type A botulinum toxin, known by the brand names of Botox, Dysport, and other brands. It involves injecting a small amount of Botox or Dysport into specific muscles around the mouth to create a subtle and natural-looking lift.
Here's how it works: Botox or Dysport, is strategically injected into the orbicularis oris muscle—the muscle responsible for puckering the lips. By relaxing this muscle, the upper lip can gently roll outward, resulting in the appearance of a fuller and more defined lip line.

Difference Between a Lip Flip and Fillers
It's important to note that the Botox Lip Flip is different from dermal fillers. While lip fillers add volume by injecting substances like hyaluronic acid into the lips, the Lip Flip solely focuses on enhancing the shape and contour of the upper lip, or cupid’s bow, without adding volume.
What is the Procedure Like?
Follow our pre-and post-care instructions as you would for any neurotoxin injection procedure. Avoid alcohol and blood thinners (discuss with your doctor beforehand) for 3 to 4 days before the procedure.
It is a fairly quick procedure taking about 10 minutes. The neurotoxin will be injected into the center and corners of your upper lip.
Avoid smoking following the procedure and rubbing or massaging your lips. Try to sleep on your back for a few days so your lips don’t press against the pillow.
Who Can Benefit From a Botox Lip Flip?

It is generally considered a safe procedure. Side effects usually seen are some bruising or swelling at the injection site. Botulism is an extremely rare side effect.
What is the Difference Between a Botox and a Dysport Lip Flip?
The main difference between using Dysport or Botox for your lip injection is that generally, Botox injections will last longer. Most individuals will see results from a Dysport lip flip for three to four months.
Patients who opt for Botox will typically see results for as long as six months. Most patients see results with Dysport after three to four days and Botox patients may see results from seven to thirty days after the procedure.
